Time for a roundup: Multi-agency police efforts result in 32 arrests
MARIANNA – A four-month investigation by Chipley Police Department, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Florida Highway Patrol and the Jackson County Drug Task Force had paid off with 32 arrests. The information was released at a news conference Monday afternoon.
“The arrests involve suspects who are either methamphetamine cooks manufacturing meth or suppliers in one form or another,” said Investigator John Broxton with the Chipley Police department.
While several suspects await trials or sentencing, Chipley Police Chief Kevin Crews said that “several of ours have already pleaded.”
“We’ve seized six vehicles, five guns, and probably $20,000 worth of drug chemicals we have taken off the street,” said Jackson County Sheriff John McDaniel. “We’re making it kind of hard on them.
“Most of these cases are third-degree felonies that would receive three to five years of probation. Some are second-degree felonies.”
