One arrested on sexual battery charges

On Saturday, June 28, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a possible sexual battery at Holmes Creek Assisted Living Facility in Vernon. Both deputies and EMS were dispatched to the assisted living facility and after arriving at the location, the female victim was transported to Northwest Florida Community Hospital.

Investigators were dispatched to the hospital where a SART (Sexual Abuse Response Team) exam was conducted on the female victim, who suffers from severe mental retardation. Demion Antonio Dixon, 28 year old black male, was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail. Both Dixon and the victim are residents of the Holmes Creek Assisted Living Facility.

Dixon is currently incarcerated at the Washington County Jail being held on a $50,000 bond.
