BONIFAY — The Holmes County Chamber of Commerce is looking for a few good words.
Chamber official Julia Bullington announced the Holmes County Logo Contest Thursday during the chamber’s monthly meeting.
“Holmes county has no branding,” Bullington said. “In marketing and advertising, it is so important to have that name-brand, something that symbolizes the area.”
Holmes County Chamber of Commerce, Holmes County Tourist Development Council and the Holmes County Economic Development Commission, announce a contest to produce the first official Holmes County Logo.
The competition is open to any resident of Holmes County, Florida and encourages amateurs, artists, graphic designers and students to create a logo that captures and communicates our county’s spirit, history, future and/or mission, according to the chamber’s website.
Entries may be submitted at any time but must be received by the contest’s deadline 4 p.m. on April 13.
The Holmes County Board of County Commissioners have voted to adopt this new logo and will be used by the county in a variety of formats, Bullington said, including but not limited to online, in print, signage, and or promotional material.
Seven judges will be chosen to comprise the selection committee from various segments of the community, Bullington said.
A cash prize of $1,000.00 will be awarded to the contest winner.
“We are encouraging everyone to participate, and we welcome any submissions. If you have any talent, or have a friend or relative who is artistic, encourage them to submit a logo,” Bullington said.
