Washington County elected officials were sworn in on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the Washington County Annex. County Judge Colby Peel was on hand to administer the oath of office for the officials.

Linda Hayes Cook was sworn in to the office of clerk of the circuit court. Her brother Harvey Hayes held the Bible for Cook. Cook was re-elected to the office in November, and she worked in the clerk of court office for 13 years prior to being elected to the office in 1997.

Ken Naker was accompanied by his wife, Vicky, when he was sworn into office as Washington County Tax Collector. Naker replaced longtime Tax Collector Helen McEntyre, who was not seeking re-election, when he defeated opponent Dell Corbin in the November General Election.

Washington County Property Appraiser Gil Carter was joined by his wife, Gina, and daughters Madison and Mariah as County Judge Peel administered the oath of office.

Washington County Supervisor of Elections Carol Finch Rudd was joined by her husband, Dennis Rudd, as she took the oath of office on Wednesday. Rudd defeated Latrelle Reno Williams to win re-election as supervisor of elections. She has served as supervisor of elections for more than 15 years and worked in the elections office prior to being elected.
