VERNON — The Vernon High School Theatre Department is currently in full production for their Spring musical production of “Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr.”  Rehearsals began on Dec. 11 with an energetic cast of 25 students including: Austin Selden as Tom, Avanti Davis, Sarah Boullard, Nick Porter, Matthew Spittler, Sean Green, Kate Burke, Monica Howart, Kori Maynor, Morgan McKenzie, Taylor Lilly, Kaylee Walsingham, Dylan Rudd, Heidi Edwards, Taylor Young, Jacquel Watson, Logan Tyner, Dakota Ball, Jakevia Works, Angeleigh Donaldson, Bailey Burch, Jaclyn Coatney, Morgann Wells, Whitney Mullins, and Aaron Fugate.  The staff includes Kevin Russell as Director, Bobbi Pinkston as Director’s Assistant, Rachel Webb as Vocal Coach.

Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr. is the most fun and energetic musicals ever to hit the stage! Tom, a school teacher nervous about his first day of teaching, tries to relax by watching TV. Suddenly, various characters representing facets of his personality emerge from the set. They proceed to show him how to win his students over with imagination and music, through beloved Schoolhouse Rock songs that cover a variety of subjects: math, science, history and grammar. Like the classic television series, this show is a hip, entertaining and educational treat that shows young people that learning can be as fun as you choose to make it.

“Schoolhouse Rock Live!” will take the stage March 21-23 at 7pm nightly.  Tickets will be $10/adults and $5/students & children.  Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Monday, March 4th in the Vernon High School Main Office. Vernon High School is located at 3232 Moss Hill Road, Vernon Florida.
