Governor to visit for bridge dedication

Cook reported that the city’s recreation committee would hold baseball, T-ball and softball registration from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Jan. 21 and that registration would continue until March 1. She also reported that a Dixie League umpire clinic would be held in February in Marianna.

Persons interested in either team registration or the Dixie League clinic may contact city hall for more information.

In other business, the city council accepted the bid of $2,500 from Southern Earth Sciences, Inc. to cap the abandoned monitor well, as required by the state, after Biddle explained that having the well sealed was a requirement of the city’s last sewer permit.

The council also accepted the low bid of $12,193.25 from Surplus Salvage of Chipley for roof repairs to the city hall building.
