Traffic backed up in Bonifay

An accident on Interstate 10 rerouted traffic through Bonifay Tuesday morning.

BONIFAY — After two semis collided on Interstate 10 between Bonifay and Caryville this morning, traffic was detoured through Bonifay, causing temporary congestion.

According the Florida Department of Transportation, two semis collided westbound on I-10, one of which was carrying alcoholic beverages and spilt the entirety of its contents including over 150 gallons of fuel.

None were reported injured.

An environmental protection agency is making efforts to clean the spilled fuel.

More information will be provided as soon as the official report is released.
