CHIPLEY — A man was arrested following the search of a Chipley residence on Dec. 17, according to a news release from the Washington County Drug Task Force.

Howard Wesley Tyler Basham, 29, was arrested in connection with possession charges after the task force executed a search warrant at a North 5th Street home in Chipley, where officers found a small amount of illegal prescription pills, marijuana and methamphetamine, according to the news release.

Officers also found over a dozen pieces of drug paraphernalia that is consistent with smoking drugs, according to the release.

“It’s bad enough that we deal with the adults in the drug infested homes, but it’s even worse when we see children living in these conditions,” said Washington County Sheriff Bobby Haddock. “There were six kids located in this home with ages ranging 6 months to 14 years of age. We continue to urge the public to call in tips regarding illegal drug use and distribution.”
