CHIPLEY — The Spanish Trail Playhouse is currently in full rehearsals for their spring production The Mousetrap. Following two successful evenings of auditions, Director Rosalyn Scott cast the following individuals: Nancy Pope as Mollie Ralston, Matt Chase as Giles Ralston, Hunter Harden as Christopher Wren, Shirley Morris as Mrs. Boyle, Raymond Bixby as Major Metcalf, Ginger Abbott as Miss Casewell, Mike Jacobs as Mr. Paravicini, and Blake Bush as Detective Sergeant Trotter. Donna Gunter will serve as Stage Manager.
A group of strangers is stranded in a boarding house during a snow storm, one of whom is a murderer. The suspects include the newly married couple who run the house, and the suspicions that are in their minds nearly wreck their perfect marriage. Others are a spinster with a curious background, an architect who seems better equipped to be a chef, a retired Army major, a strange little man who claims his car has overturned in a drift, and a jurist who makes life miserable for everyone. Into their midst comes a policeman, traveling on skis. He no sooner arrives, than Mrs. Boyle is killed. Two down, one to go. To get to the rationale of the murderer's pattern, the policeman probes the background of everyone present, and rattles a lot of skeletons. Another famous Agatha Christie switch finish! Chalk up another superb intrigue for the foremost mystery writer of her time.
The Mousetrap, written by Agatha Christie and produced by special arrangement with Samuel French Inc., will take the stage March 15 & 16, 2013 at 7pm nightly and on March 17, 2013 at 2pm.
