Wind was so severe in this area that this awning collapsed on the intersection of State Road 90 and State Road 79 in Bonifay at around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30.

According to the National Weather Service, residents can expect severe rain and thunderstorms throughout Washington and Holmes Counties. The rain is expected to come to an end by early evening. It will be mostly cloudy with strong and gusty winds with temperatures falling into the mid 50s. Winds WSW at 30 to 35 mph with a 90 percent chance of rain.
