BONIFAY — Holmes County School District gave Superintendent Gary Galloway and School Board members Gary Scott and Anthony Register a fond farewell at their regularly scheduled meeting held Tuesday, Nov. 6.

“As this is my last board meeting before my retirement I wish to thank the board members for their cooperation and leadership over the past four years,” said Galloway. “I consider it an honor and a privilege to have served with you.”

He then told Scott and Register that he “wished them the best as they too are leaving the board.”

“To Jason Motley, Rusty Williams and Sid Johnson, the two new board members and the new Superintendent, I wish you wisdom and courage as you continue to conduct the business of the Holmes County District School system,” he said. “To the district staff I simply say thank you for jobs well done and for taking care of me, I simply could not have endured without your help. I close with this thought: May God give to you at this time and for always His Peace in your soul, His Love in your hearts and His presence in your life.”

Register said a few words of farewell to his fellow board members as well as the staff and his family.

“First I wanted to thank my family for enduring and standing by me while I fulfilled my dream of working in the school system,” said Register. “We’ve got one of the best school districts. There were a lot of hard times but it couldn’t have been endured with better people.”

He thanked Jerry Dixon as his mentor.
