WASHINGTON COUNTY – The clock is ticking for the controversial Rhythm housing development project.
Rhythm, a 1,883 acre Active Adult Retirement Community proposed to be located approximately 3 miles west of US 231, received a green light from the Washington County Board of County Commissioners in February 2012 after several controversial and confrontational public hearings. Commissioners and then-planning rep for the development, Tallahassee-based Henderson Planning Group LLC, agreed upon a three-year land preparation deadline.
Since then, the project has encountered many obstacles, including parting ways with Henderson Planning Group and not being able to obtain proper permits in a timely manner.
