Railroad crossing repairs hit downtown Chipley

CHIPLEY — Work by  CSX hit downtown Chipley full-tilt Tuesday as railroad crews tore up the 5th Street intersection. Traffic was rerouted and several intersections closed.

CSX  notified the Washington County News that the railroad will be working on several intersections in Chipley in April.

According to the CSX schedule, the work on 5th Street, 7th Street, Main Street, 2nd Street, Dalton, Griffin and Glass roads was to begin on Wednesday, but the crews seem to be a day ahead of schedule.

On April 15-16, Private Road 764.6 and 764.2 and Ray Lane will be closed for work, according to the schedule.

County Road 759.6, Magnolia, Hubbard, Oklahoma, Moody and Arnett streets will be closed April 17-18.

April 22-23 finds the railroad working on Boswell Road, RD Carter Parkway and County Road 754.2.
