Police arrest woman in connection with theft at Wal-Mart

CHIPLEY — Chipley Police arrested a woman in connection with a charge of grand theft at Wal-Mart on Aug 6.

The Chipley Police Department was contacted on Aug. 6 by Wal-Mart and launched an investigation into a theft involving an employee. 

Wal-Mart employee Tiffany A. Merkison, 21 of Bristol was arrested for stealing over $1,000 dollars of currency or negotiables and merchandise from Wal-Mart, according to the report.

Merkison was arrested and charged with grand theft, a third-degree felony.

The investigation revealed that starting on approximately July 27 of this year Merkison began committing these thefts and continued until Aug. 6, according to the report.
