HOLMES COUNTY - A 34-year-old Dothan man, name withheld until notification of family member, sustained serious injuries on the evening of Thursday, June 19, when he drifted off the road on County Road 173 north of DG Worley Road in Holmes County and struck several mail boxes and then two trees.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Dothan man was traveling south bound on CR 173 when he drifted onto the west shoulder of the road, colliding with three mailboxes. He then over-steered to the left and then to the right causing his 1999 Chevy Monte Carlo to travel in the north bound lane and then returned to the west shoulder, still traveling southwesterly.

The Dothan man then collided with another mailbox and continued southwest where he then collided with a tree. The vehicle then rotated clockwise and then the rear of the vehicle collided with another tree. The vehicle continued to rotate clockwise while traveling south, according to the report, and finally came to a rest facing south on the west shoulder.

The driver was taken to Flowers Hospital in Dothan by AirHeart. The report indicated that he was wearing his seatbelt and the indication if alcohol being related is still pending.
