CHIPLEY — Surrounded by family, friends, teammates and school staff, Chipley High School senior Dallas Oliver signs with the Lawson Cougars on March 12 as their newest pitcher and to attend as the newest student at Lawson State Community College.

“We are very proud of Dallas and all that he has achieved with us,” said Chipley High School’s Head Baseball Coach Andy Compton. “We’re now looking forward to seeing him take his game to the next level.”

Lawson State Community College’s Head Baseball Coach Doug Kovash said that is exactly what the Lawson Cougars will demand of Oliver.

“We’re going to accept nothing less than Dallas’ best and we are confident that is exactly what he will give us,” said Kovash. “Presently Lawson State Community College is ranked number five in the nation for junior colleges and ranked number one in the state of Alabama. We are very glad to have Dallas joining us and look forward to his future successes.”

The scholarship signing was held in the Chipley High School cafeteria and was sponsored by the Chipley High School and Tiger 100.
