No opposition in Chipley city election

CHIPLEY - Three Chipley City Council members will be re-elected by default since no one filed to challenge them in the Aug. 6 municipal election.

Ward 1 City Councilwoman Karen Kinser Rustin, Ward 4 Councilman Brett Butler, and Member-at-Large Ellis W. Reed are unopposed for their posts on the council and will retain their seats.

This also means the city won't have to spend the money to hold an election, a savings to the public of approximately $5,000 for a general election and another $3,500 should a run-off had became necessary.
