BONIFAY — The Bonifay Kiwanis Club honored Northwest Florida Championship Rodeo helpers and presented their new club officers Thursday night at the annual Appreciation Banquet, held at the Holmes County Ag Center.
The rodeo is the Kiwanis Club’s annual fundraiser, and it takes a lot of volunteers, said Past President Bill Bullington.
“Old presidents don’t fade away, they get to man a gate at the rodeo,” Bullington said, jokingly.
Division 2 Lt. Governor Stan Peacock was on hand to install the new officers and to recognize the board of directors.
The Kiwanis Club Board of Directors include: 2010-11 — Gene Miller, Jimmy Helms, Roger Brooks;
2011-12 — Melissa Bruner, Herb Peel, Brandon Young;
2012-13 — Sharon Curry, Don Hersman, Bettie Slay.
The 2012-13 club officers are President Carlton Treadwell, President Elect Sandy Spear, Treasurer Celena Medley, Secretary Gene Miller, and Past President Bill Bullington.
Bullington was recognized for his years of service to the Kiwanis Club.
Larry Bailey was named Kiwanian of the Year by the club.
Also during the program, the J. Harvey Etheridge Good Will Ambassador award was presented to Kiwanian Roger Brooks by Holmes County Times-Advertiser Editor Randal Seyler.
