HOLMES COUNTY - The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, along with other agencies, were able to eradicate and destroy 7,784 marijuana plants throughout the county last week.

The sweep took place over a period of three days throughout the county.

"We would like to thank Bay County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Forestry Service, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Department of Homeland Security-US Customs and Border Patrol for the air support they contributed for the eradication as well as Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Law Enforcement for their ground support," said Sheriff Tim Brown. "With the combined efforts from these agencies, it was possible to eradicate several thousand plants from the community."
