Holmes County deputy suffers complications from heart surgery

GRACEVILLE — A second fundraiser for Holmes County Deputy Matt Kersey was held Friday, Jan. 18. Kersey suffered complications after having open heart surgery and is now in UAB in Birmingham. Holmes County Sheriff’s Office sold steak plates to help raise funds for him, his wife (Chasity Kersey), daughter (Miracle) and their unborn child.
A benefit account has been opened for Deputy Sheriff Matt Kersey to help his wife, daughter and unborn child with expenses during this time.
The account has been set up at People’s South bank and donations can be made at any location.
