CHIPLEY — A number of roads remain closed in Washington County Monday morning following heavy rains last week, according to the county Emergency Management office.
Roads still underwater include Moss Hill and Pioneer and parts of Clayton, along with a host of other roads either closed our still flooded.
Meanwhile, the Choctawhatchee River was expected to crest this morning at 18.5 feet, nearly 6 feet above the flood stage.
Vernon City Council is holding a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 8, to discuss flooding damage. The meeting will be held at City Hall in council chambers.
