The National Weather Service in Tallahassee issued a Flash Flood Watch today, Wednesday, May 14 through tomorrow evening, Thursday evening for the Florida Panhandle, which is predicted to have heavy rain coming.

A cold front will approach slowly from the West today, with showers and thunderstorms gradually increasing during the day as this front interacts with unusually moist air across the region.

The heaviest rain is likely going to happen tonight and early tomorrow. As the cold front crosses the area, rainfall across most of the area will range from two to three inches but in isolated areas there may be as much as five to eight inches.

Given the water table and full drainages, especially in the Florida Panhandle, there is a threat of rapidly rising waters.
