Chipley Ministerial Association Annual Holy Week
CHIPLEY — The First United Methodist Church of Chipley will again host the Chipley Ministerial Association’s Annual Holy Week Services from March 25 to 29. The services will begin each day at 12 p.m., in the Sanctuary and will conclude with a “soup and sandwich” lunch in the John Wesley Building. As is the tradition, each service will consist of special music and a short devotional given by a different pastor each day. The speakers for this year are on Monday March 25, the Rev. Kermit Soileau, Pastor of New Prospect Baptist Church. Tuesday’s speaker will be the Rev. Ward Clarke of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church and on Wednesday, the Rev. Mike Orr of the First Baptist Church will give the devotion. The Rev. Clint Ellis, Pastor of Holmes Creek Baptist Church will speak on Thursday and Good Friday’s message will be given by the Rev. Vince Spencer, of New Life Fellowship Assembly of God Church. After each day’s service a “soup and sandwich” luncheon will be served in the John Wesley Building. The service and luncheon will be timed so that you can attend both the service and luncheon and still return to work by 1 p.m. There is no charge for participating in the service or the luncheon although an “Agape Plate” will be placed at each end of the Alter to allow those who wish to contribute to the Ministerial Association’s Benevolent Fund that provides lodging for distressed travelers. The First United Methodist Church is located next to the Washington County Courthouse at the top of hill on Highway 90, 1285 Jackson Ave. Come and worship with us each day, the entire community is invited to attend these services. FUMC Youth Present Stations of the Cross
CHIPLEY — The Youth Fellowship of Chipley First United Methodist Church will present the “Stations of the Cross” at 6:30 p.m., on Friday evening March 29. The “Stations of the Cross” is a visual reenactment of the days leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion. This performance will be given on the stage of our new John Wesley Building. Chipley United Methodist Church is located at 1285 Jackson Avenue, next to the Washington County Courthouse at the top of the hill on Highway 90. Tent Revival of America

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS — Saint Agatha’s Episcopal Church will sponsor a Cooked to Order Breakfast, from 7 to 11 a.m. on April 6. Breakfast plates will be $4.50 for adults and $2.50 for a child 10 and under. Breakfast will include eggs, grits/home fries, pancakes, bacon/sausage, toast, sausage gravy on biscuits or toast, juice/milk/coffee, there will also be healthy choice items. Financial Peace University Provides Hope To Families In Chipley
CHIPLEY — FPU will be held at Grace Assembly at Chipley at 4:30 p.m., April 21, 2013. More than one and a half million families have positively changed their financial future through Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University (FPU). Updated in summer 2012, the now nine-week course provides families and individuals with practical tools to gain control of their finances and set themselves up for long-term financial success. The course meets once a week where a different lesson is taught by Dave on DVD followed by a small-group discussion.
