“I was truly amazed to see how the community came together for a common cause, which was to better the community,” said Kirkland. “It was a festival created of the community, by the community and for the community.”

Madden said that it was now up to the present generation to continue the festival because the time of needing the community to pull together and support one another is at hand.

“There’s a lot of money that goes into producing a festival now a days,” said Madden. “It is so expensive with all of these extra expenses for advertising and safety requirements, but it is something that this town needs. We’ve got something special here, we just need to pull together and make it something great again.”

This year’s event will include a car show with a 50/50 drawing, horseshoe tournament, dunking booth, fire truck exhibit, cakewalk, face painting, a large variety of vendors and live entertainment from The Springs, Josh Cobb, Graceville High School Show Choir Illusions, Patti Rutland Jazz Dance Center, Final Harvest Gospel Group, Graceville High School Show Choir Prodigy, Big Jimmy and Ron Fench.
