CHIPLEY — Chipley Police Department reports the recent arrest of three suspects for distributing counterfeit bills in the Chipley and surrounding areas.

According to the report, during the past couple of weeks the Chipley Police Department has been investigating a case involving someone passing counterfeit bills to businesses in Chipley.

“We have determined that fortunately only two stores were victim to the fake money,” said Police Chief Kevin Crews. “On March 19 we caught a break in the case and were able to stop a vehicle that we felt was possibly involved in the passing of the fake money. As a result of the traffic stop investigators with the Chipley Police Department was able to arrest three suspects that were allegedly passing the counterfeit money in the City of Chipley.”

These suspects are also being investigated by several other agencies to include Bonifay, Holmes County and Walton County law enforcement for passing counterfeit money, according to Crews.

Arrested were Kevin Andrew Kirk, 25, of DeFuniak Springs, Kevin Nicholas Redmon, 22, of Westville and Kittie C. Vickers, 27, of Ponce de Leon.

Kirk and Redmon are being charged with passing counterfeit bills and Vickers is being charged with possession of methamphetamine.

“The bills passed in Chipley were $20 bills,” said Crews. “If anyone suspects they were presented with counterfeit money please call the Chipley Police Department immediately at 638-6310.”
