Winners of Christmas decoration honors announced

CHIPLEY — The Chipley City Council breezed through its first meeting of the year on Tuesday, approving three ordinances on their first readings and awarding plaques for Outstanding Christmas Decoration Displays to city residents.

Each council member got to choose a home from their respective wards and presented a plaque to the winners. Three of the five awards had winners in attendance.

 “The city of Chipley thanks you for your outstanding display of Christmas spirit. Your ‘Chipley Pride’ shines and is an inspiration to all,” the plaques read.

Ward 1 Councilwoman Karen Rustin presented Al and Kim Pate with a plaque for their Outstanding Christmas Decoration Display at 616 4th St.

Ward 2 winners John and Leanne Pedraja, chosen by Councilman Kevin Russell, for their residence at 1261 Church Ave.

Ward 3 Councilman Lee Dell Kennedy presents the Luis and Nilda Calix for their home at 1237 Apple St.

Ward 4 winners were Steve and Tammy Ayers at 1331 Coleman Ave., picked by Mayor Linda Cain.
