Choctawhatchee River crests today

CARYVILLE — The Choctawhatchee River is currently set to crest at 18.4 feet around 10 a.m. Monday, July 8, according to the Walton County Sheriff's Office.

For all residents and visitors near Bunker, Steelfield and other areas situated along the river please take necessary precautions.   More information shall be released throughout the day in case an evacuation is required.

The crest is expected to impact residents in Caryville, Bruce and in Holmes County as well.
