KMS PTO Annual Breakfast with Santa
CHIPLEY — Kate Smith Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will host its annual Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 5
Plates include pancakes, sausage, and your choice of milk, orange juice, or coffee. Pancake decorating will
also be available for the children.
Advance tickets may be purchased for $5 each at Chipley Gun and Pawn, Community South Credit Union, and Panhandle Family Medicine through Tuesday, Dec. 2. Tickets will also be available at the door for $6 each plate.
For each ticket purchased, you will be entered for a chance to a child’s bicycle.

Christmas in Bethlehem
BONIFAY — Christmas In Bethlehem is coming to Bethlehem Camp again this year. Tours by ancient shepherds on Dec. 4-5 and Dec. 11-12 start at 6 p.m. with the last tour at 7:30 p.m. and include a visit to Grandma’s House, Kid Crafts, a hayride, boiled peanuts, light refreshments, a petting zoo and musical performances.
Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. For tours of 10 or more, contact 866-950-3334.
Bethlehem Camp is located on Hwy C-160. Hope International and Bethlehem Camp are sponsors of this event.
Vernon Christmas Parade
VERNON — The Vernon Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. Line up will begin at noon behind Vernon City Hall at old Vernon High School on the walking track. Following the parade, Santa will visit with the children in the Vernon Community Center. Refreshments will be served with goodie bags for the children. Pancake breakfast
WAUSAU — In conjunction with the Wausau Christmas Parade on Dec. 12, 10 a.m. the Wausau Masonic Lodge No. 39 will host a pancake breakfast from 6-9 a.m. for a $4 donation.
Wausau Christmas Parade
WAUSAU — The Town of Wausau will hold it’s annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 10 a.m. Line up will begin at 9:30. Santa will be at the Possum Palace after the parade with goodies for the children. Anyone who wants to participate in the parade should contact Margaret at the Town Hall 638- 1781.
The Wausau Volunteer Fire Department will raffle off a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun. Tickets are available at the Town Hall or from any WVFD volunteer. The drawing will be held after the parade at the Possum Palace. The gun can be viewed at King’s Discount Drugs in Chipley.
The Wausau Garden Club will be selling cookies and crafts at the Possum Palace after the Christmas Parade.
Bonifay Christmas celebration
BONIFAY — Bonifay Fire and Rescue and City of Bonifay will host the sixth Annual Christmas Celebration on Saturday, Dec. 12 at Veterans Park across from Memorial Field.
The celebration will begin at 6 p.m. with the Bonifay Fire Department Christmas Parade of Lights in downtown
Bonifay. Immediately after the Bonifay Police Department will close the road to all traffic.
The Christmas Parade of Lights will start at the Bonifay Piggly Wiggly travel through downtown Bonifay and will end on Veterans Boulevard. Line up begins at 5:30 p.m. at Bonifay Elementary School, 307 West North Avenue. All participants should dress in festive holiday attire, and have vehicles and floats decorated with Christmas lights and decorations.
For safety, you are asked not to throw candy or beads as you go through the parade route. Santa will hand out treat bags to all the children at the Christmas Celebration.

The Holmes County Key Club will be on hand dressed as Super Heroes to help entertain the kids along the way. As a special treat, the HCHS Chorus will perform this year’s Holiday Concert. As always, the City of Bonifay will provide free hot chocolate and Bonifay Fire & Rescue will prepare hotdogs for a donation to help out their Toys for Tots program.
Geneva County Christmas Pageant
SAMSON, AL — The Geneva County Pageant committee will sponsor its annual Christmas pageant on Sunday, Nov. 29 at 2 p.m. in the Samson Elementary Cafetorium.
Area queens are invited to attend along with all of the 2008 Geneva County queens as the 2009 winners are crowned.
Six age divisions include: Baby, 0-24 months; Tiny, 2-4 years; Mini, 5-7 years; Little, 8-10 years; Junior, 11-13; Miss, 14-18.
All contestants to wear Sunday attired and reside within 100 miles of Samson.

Tree of Lights – A Celebration of Life”
MARIANNA — Covenant Hospice invites bereaved hospice families, as well as community members who have endured the loss of a loved one, to attend “Tree of Lights—A Celebration of Life” ceremony at 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 3 at Evangel Worship Center at 2645 Pebble Hill Road in Marianna.
This evening of celebration and remembrance includes an inspirational message, candle lighting, selected readings and holiday music. A reception with refreshments will immediately follow. There is no charge to attend.
All donations benefit Covenant Hospice, enabling us to continue our mission of providing compassionate, quality
care for patients and loved ones facing end-of-life issues.

There’s trouble in Calendar Castle: The “Twelve Days of Christmas” are getting too big for their britches. They
get out of hand and all of the other calendar days are needed to make things right again.
The theater is located in Headland, eight miles north of Dothan, two blocks west from the historic downtown Square in at 115 West Church Street.

Christmas Decorating Workshop at Landmark Park
DOTHAN — The annual Landmark Park Christmas Decorating Workshop is planned for Sunday, Dec. 6 at
1 p.m. Deck the halls of the historical buildings with homemade, old-fashioned ornaments and wreaths.
Plus, make your own ornament to take home. Volunteers should bring a pair of gloves, wire pliers and natural materials to use in the ornament making.
