One busted on dope charges

On 5/27/09 narcotics investigators with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office and with assistance from the Bonifay Police Department and Chipley Police Department executed a search warrant at 202 Veneer Circle in Bonifay after undercover investigators purchased marijuana from an individual from the residence.

As a result of the search warrant a considerable amount of marijuana packaged for sale was located inside the residence along with drug paraphernalia (scales, and bags) used to package the marijuana. While processing the scene the suspect Phillip Dean Weeks, 28 YOA from Bonifay drove by and deputies pursued him and stopped him and took him into custody.

A search of Weeks' person also revealed bags of marijuana packaged for sale in his pocket.  Weeks is facing charges of 2 counts of possession of marijuana +20 grams (about a quarter-pound) with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sheriff Tim Brown states, “that dealers like this are primary targets in our narcotics investigations.  Arrests like this one was made possible by tips we received from the public."  Brown would like to thank the concerned citizens and encourage them to keep calling with information.

Weeks is also a registered sex offender. For more information go to http://offender.fdle.state.fl.us/offender/flyer.do?personId=14248
