Vehicle Ends Up in Pool

Esto Volunteer Fire Department

ESTO - During drill exercises on Oct. 24 Esto Volunteer Fire Department witnessed a black late model SUV cross the north bound lane of Hwy 79 around 12:30 p.m.

The SUV narrowly missed a huge oak tree, crossed a lawn, one block in length, hit a fence, crashed through a garage door, attached to a frame dwelling, crashed through the rear wall of the garage and came to a rest against the south wall of an approximately 30-foot-long swimming pool.

Fortunately, there was only two feet of water where the car came to rest in the deep end of the pool.

Esto VFD requested Holmes County EMS and FHP while responding to the scene.

EMS triaged and stabilized the vehicle occupants, a father, (driver) and his daughters, age two and age five.

After treatment victims were transported to Flowers Hospital where all three were treated and released with no major injuries.

Eastern Diesel and Esto VFD worked until 3:34 p.m. to remove vehicle from pool.
