Fatal wreck on I-10 near Ponce de Leon

Holmes and Walton County emergency services, Walton County Sheriff's Office, FDOT and Florida Highway Patrol were on the scene to answer the call that a semi and trailer overturned at about 6:20 a.m. The truck was driving westbound at about the 96 mile marker on Interstate 10 just west of the Ponce de Leon exit when it overturned and trapped the driver in the rig. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to FHP. The driver's name has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Investigation was underway to determine the cause of the wreck.
