Crack dealer caught in Holmes County

Holmes County Sheriff's Department

HOLMES COUNTY - The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its fight with the war on drugs in Holmes County.

On March 9 narcotic investigators with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Department arrested Calvin Eugene Smith, date of birth 10/29/83, from Hartford, Ala. for the sale of controlled substance (crack cocaine).

Smith reportedly traveled from Alabama to a location in Holmes County where he made the sale of crack cocaine to an undercover agent.

During the investigation a large amount of crack cocaine was seized along with a large amount of U.S. Currency.

Also seized was Smith’s vehicle, which is a common practice among Law Enforcement agencies, when a vehicle or other property is used during the commission of a felony.

In response to this recent arrest Sheriff Brown said “I am very impressed with our investigators in this case, particularly because this subject brought dangerous drugs into our community” “we’re going to pursue these individuals with all available resources”.

Sheriff Brown also encourages anyone with information related to criminal activity to call Crimes Stoppers of Holmes County at 1-866-689-8477.

You do not have to give your name and you may be entitled to a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.
