Demolition Continues on SR 79 in Vernon
Chipley –Demolition continues on SR 79 in Vernon to make way for the widening of the roadway and construction of a new bridge. Crews will begin demolition on the Haddock property (Michael’s Garage) Wednesday, November 19. This is the eighth of sixteen properties scheduled to be demolished for the multi-lane project, which extends from north of CR 278 to McFatter Avenue. Demolition on the remaining eight properties is scheduled for December 2008 or January 2009.
Demolition of ten properties in Ebro will begin in December of this year as well. This project extends from McFatter Avenue to CR 279 (Pate Pond Road)
Properties demolished include:
Vernon-Removed: Mitchell residence, Water Dan business, Brock vacant residence, Vernon Masonic Lodge, Cat’s Eye Tavern, Parker rental residence, Parrish’s store
Vernon-To be removed: Church of Christ, KC’s Pizza, Frank’s Auto Parts, Kendrick’s residence and old store, Dixie Dandy, Miner’s Movie Mania, Michael’s Garage (this week), Southern Styles Family Hair Care (this week), Hodges vacant residence, Adams residence (December 1), P & C Grocers d/b/a Liberty Store, Birge Residenc
Ebro-To be removed: Morrell storage building, Gilley rental mobile home, Medeiros mobile home, Saunders rental residence, 77 Travel Plaza, Oak Grove Baptist Church
