Three arrested on drug charges
On June 5 officers of the Chipley Police Department responded to a tip at a local motel in Chipley. After surveillance of the suspicious activity, officers were able to arrest three people from the motel. After entry into the suspect’s room, the investigation led to the discovery of chemicals used in the manufacture of Methamphetamine. Arrested were Martha Mayes of Cottondale, Verland Ball of Panama City, and Robert Clements from Alford. All three were arrested for Unlawful Possession of Listed Chemicals and other related charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting an Officer without Violence and outstanding warrants.
"We encourage citizens to continue calling with information on suspected illegal activity," said Chief Kevin Crews. "We continue to aggressively enforce laws regarding the production of illicit substances but your support is vital to keeping our community safe."
