Railroad section on 77 scheduled for repair
CHIPLEY – The section of railroad crossing State 77 in downtown Chipley is scheduled to close for repairs and mandatory maintenance January 26 – 30. Traffic will be redirected until the maintenance is finished. The decision was announced at Council’s regular meeting Thursday night.
Gene Sims was presented with the Employee of the Quarter award.
Council approved the second reading of the improvements schedule to update the City’s Comprehensive Plan, which has all of the projects the city has planned for the immediate future.
Council was asked to put the renovations to the Historical Society building on this year’s Comp Plan, otherwise the Society wouldn’t be able to seek state funding. It was agreed that the renovations could be placed on the long-term plan, until financial assistance could be assured and then, during the next update of the comp plan, he could be placed in the short-term plan.
The next council workshop is scheduled for February 5 and the next regular scheduled meeting is for February 12.
