Carbon monoxide ruled cause of couple's death
Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen released today preliminary toxicology results in the deaths of Iris Eneido Chesley, age 61, and Alfred E. Chesley, age 70, of 835 Miles Drive, Callaway.
Preliminary results state that, based on a laboratory analysis of tissue samples, Alfred Chesley died from acute carbon monoxide toxicity. Iris Chesley died from Anoxic Encephalopathy due to exposure to Carbon Monoxide.
Investigators with the Bay County Sheriff’s Office found no indication of foul play with no trauma on the bodies or evidence of a forced entry into the home. Investigators also believe the deaths were not self-inflicted. Tests done by Haz Mat at the time deputies discovered the bodies found the air quality in the home within normal parameters for common toxins.
At this point in the investigation, no source for the carbon monoxide has been found. More extensive toxicology results are expected and the investigation is ongoing.
