“This golf tournament is so important because there is a real need for these services,” said Nicole Barefield, publisher of the Washington County News and the Holmes County Times-Advertiser said. “We see it every day.”
“For every dollar you donate, the Council on Aging gets $9 in matching funds. I don’t know anywhere else you can get a 9-to-1 return on your money,” said Ron Sharpe, director of resource development for United Way of Northwest Florida.

The money raised by the local golf tournament stays in Northwest Florida and helps our United Way agencies and our neighbors, Sharpe said.

“You know how important it is what you guys are doing, I hope you can hear the sincerity when we say ‘thank you,’” Sharpe told the Trawick employees. “You didn’t have to do this tournament, but you got involved and did it. That is so awesome.”
