Brown family thanks everyone for support

Thank You From FHP Trooper Milton Brown and Family

Milton and I, along with our children, parents and family would like to thank everyone from the tri-state area – our Florida Highway Patrol family,  All Law Enforcement agencies, First-Responders, Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Service, Church Family, Community and Friends –  for the prayers, telephone calls, visits and encouragement.  Milton is recuperating steadily from the injuries he received from the accident on Thursday, March 20.  The tremendous amount of support is both overwhelming and humbling; please know that it is received with grateful hearts.  Milton is receiving excellent care and we pray that he will be home soon.  To make this possible, his calls and visits have been limited; but know that we are receiving your gestures of support and encouragement. Please continue to pray for his recovery so that he can see you along his patrol very soon.  We love you and are humbled and appreciative.  May God Bless and Keep each of you.

Much Love & Gratitude,

Genèvelyn and Milton Brow

Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Milton Brown was injured in a wreck Thursday morning, March 20 on Interstate 10. According to reports from the scene Brown was rear-ended by a semi-tractor-trailer at the 126-mile marker at the Washington-Jackson County line. Brown was taken to SE Alabama Medical Center by AirHeart helicopter. The injuries are not life threatening, according to FHP

PLEASE LEAVE YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS FOR MILTON, HIS FAMILY AND HIS FELLOW TOOPERS BY SCROLLING DOWN BELOW

LT Steve Preston of the Florida Highway patrol said that the trooper was working with construction crews on I-10 westbound.

In a news release sent this afternoon FHP reported that the 2004 Volvo semi driven by Bruce G. Nichols, 58, of McCalla, Al was traveling east on I-10 in the outside through lane. Brown was also traveling east in his marked patrol car in the outside through lane following moving construction with his emergency lights on. The construction crew was working on the eastbound shoulder of I-10, and a pickup truck was parked along the highway. The construction zone was marked.

According to the accident report Nichols did not see Brown's car in time and tried to take evasive action at the last moment, but struck the left rear of Brown's patrol car. The impact drove the patrol car into the pickup truck. The semi ended up in a wet-weather pond off the highway in about two feet of water.

Brown is listed in serious but stable condition at SEAMC. Nichols suffered minor injuries. Nichols' passenger, Sherry Nichols, 49, of McCalla was not injured. The driver of the parked pickup truck, Michael A. Pusateri, 42, of Marianna, was not injured.

Brown is a Washington County resident. He and Trooper Rick Warden of Washington County were named co-Troopers of the Year in 2005 for their actions during the shooting of Bonifay Police Officer Stephen Lee on March 27, 2004.

Investigation continues according to the FHP report.

Dear Trooper Brown, I am sorry that you were in a wreck and we all love you. We are praying for you to get well soon. I was in the same hospital that you are in when I was hurt by a lawnmower when I was 4 ,I am 7 now, be brave and get well soon. I still remember the first time I met you at Piggly Wiggly in Chipley you gave me a hug and a card with your picture on it, you made me hold up my hand and you made me swear to be a Junior Trooper. I am one of your biggest fans. Love, Michael

Milton is a GREAT guy and role model in our Vernon community. I had a nephew visit from out of town back in April of 2004 and he took the time to pose pictures with the kids. My nephew, Tyler, was just beside himself that the POLICEMAN was so nice to him! WE LOVE YOU MILTON! Prayers to you and your family! I couldn't copy the link so if you want to browse to the pic of Milton and the kids, go to vernonathletics DOT com, click on CITY LEAGUE, click on PICTURE ARCHIVE, click on 2004 VERNON FARM LEAGUE ALLSTARS, click on the 7th picture down on the right, and the 9th picture down on the right.
