Rodeo coming up Oct. 7-9
BONIFAY — The Bonifay Kiwanis Club presents the 66th annual Northwest Florida Championship Rodeo to be held Thursday, Oct. 7 through Saturday, Oct. 9, with the rodeo starting at 7:30 p.m. nightly and activities beginning at 6:30 p.m. nightly. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. The rodeo is a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association-sanctioned Dodge Series Rodeo. In conjunction with the rodeo, there will be a two-day Rodeo Parade on Friday and Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in downtown Bonifay.
The official start for rodeo weekend is 6:30 p.m. at Memorial Field on Thursday, Oct, 7. Thursday night is “Kids Night.” Children 10 and under are admitted free, and can meet The Incredible Hulk and Batman and other friends from the Holmes County Library. A children’s event will be held during intermission.
At 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8 the rodeo parade goes through downtown Bonifay and will end in front on Memorial Field located on Veterans Boulevard. The Friday night rodeo performance is designated as “Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night.” Everyone is encouraged to wear pink on Friday night to support the fight against breast cancer.
On Saturday, Oct. 9, the rodeo parade will begin at 2:00 p.m. with special appearances from local school bands. The Dodge Series Rodeo Appreciation Night offers a chance for give-a-ways from the 2010 Rodeo sponsors and friends of the Rodeo.

Rodeo Parade Registration Information
Registration for the Northwest Florida Championship Rodeo Parade in now underway. The parade will be Friday October 8 and Saturday October 9 starting at 2:00 p.m. Applications can be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce or Holmes County Housing Authority (Clark Building). Return the applications to the respective locations or mail to P.O. Box 1113, Bonifay, FL 32425.
Anyone wishing to purchase beads will need to place their order in advance. There will be no complementary beads distributed this year. Beads can be purchased from the Bonifay Kiwanis at a nominal cost. Only beads ordered and paid for in advance will be available from the Kiwanis Club.
