More sexual assault charges on deputy

NAVARRE — A Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office lieutenant arrested Tuesday has been given additional charges, according to a release by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

John Mitchell Tomlinson, 46, of Navarre, has been charged with five counts of sexual battery on a child under 12, the release said.

Tomlinson was originally arrested and charged with 120 counts of sexual battery on a child between 12 and 18 years old.

Tomlinson’s bond has been set at $500,000. He is being held at the Walton County Jail.

The Office of State Attorney William “Bill” Eddins, 1st Judicial Circuit, will prosecute the case.
