Important fugitive arrested in Walton County

An “alert” Walton County Sheriff’s Deputy arrests a highly sought drug fugitive out of Covington County, Alabama who was out on bond for than $1 million.  At around 8 p.m. Thursday, Deputy John T. Jordan noticed a white Hyundai sport utility vehicle with a Florida license plate driving on Kings Lake Boulevard in Northern Walton County.

It matched the description of a vehicle being driven by Christine Hamilton.  The 33-year-old faces a host of outstanding charges stemming from a meth lab in the Florala area.  They include Trafficking Meth, Unlawful Manufacture of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Two Counts of Possession of Marijuana, and Chemical Endangerment of a Child.  Her bond on those charges in Covington County added-up to $1,000,040

Deputy Jordan arrested Hamilton without incident, and she was transported to the Walton County Jail where a hold has been placed on her for the Covington County Sheriff’s Office.
