ARC holds annual meeting

CHIPLEY – It was on to Nashville for the customers of ARC of Washington-Holmes Counties. Everyone rehearsed and wrote to the biggest names in country music for help, and when it was all done they were all recording artists on “the Grand Ole Opry Trip.”

The gang at ARC put on the skit at the annual association meeting Thursday night in the ARC building on South Boulevard, complete with barbecue from Sonny’s, dancing and door prizes.

Dorothy Enfinger of Washington Council on Aging and State Rep. Brad Drake were guests of honor. Enfinger spoke of the longtime cooperation between the two agencies and thanked ARC for its help on various projects.

Drake spoke about the agency’s community service and its dedication to making the lives of the customers better. His speech, along with additional photo and video coverage, is online at chipleypaper.com.

Robin Pemberton is the new president and Jerry Odom is vice president.

ARC has served adults with developmental disabilities since 1974. ARC offers adult day training, mobile crews that do highway cleanup, packing and shipping services and other services. For information call 638-7517.
