56th annual Kiwanis All-Night Sing moves indoors this year
BONIFAY – There’s a change in the air this year for the annual Kiwanis Club All-Night Gospel Sing this Saturday evening - Spectators won’t have to worry about the weather. The annual event moves indoors this year to Holmes County High School on State 90.
“Bad weather has been a problem the last two years,” All-Night Sing Committee Chairman David Lauen told Kiwanis Wednesday. Lauen said that even potential bad weather could have an effect on attendance.
“If it looks like rain at 2 p.m. it definitely affects attendance,” he said. Hence the decision to move into the air-conditioned high school to dodge potential raindrops.
The event is one of the two major fundraisers held by Kiwanis and has been held for over 55 years at Memorial Field in downtown Bonifay.
This year’s sing will be promoted by Bill Bailey and will feature the Dixie Echoes Quartet, Jeff and Sheri Easter, The Talley Trio, The Freemans, Michael Combs, and Triumphant Quartet as feature entertainment beginning at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m. No food or coolers allowed in the building and the Kiwanis Club will provide concessions.
The talent show will be Saturday before the show. For information call the Bonifay Kiwanis Club Office at 850-547-5363 or email to kiwanis@bonifaykiwanis.org. Talent winners will perform that evening.
