Here is a rundown of action taken during Tuesday night's Lafourche Parish Council meeting. All votes were unanimous unless otherwise noted.

ACTION: Accepted the minutes of the June 26, 2018 Regular Session.

ACTION: Approved an ordinance to reduce the speed limit from 20 miles per hour to 10 miles per hour on Schneider Lane, and providing for the placement of Speed Limit,  Speed Checked By Radar and Children At Play signs.

ACTION: Approved an Act of Donation between Lafourche Parish Government and Drainage District No. 1 for the donation of one drum grinder.

ACTION: Appointed Nicolas Guidry to the Lafourche Parish Planning Commission Board.

ACTION: Approved a resolution of support for the LA 1 Coalition for their funding request to the State of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2018 State Surplus Funds to construct Phase II, Segment C of the LA 1 Project in Golden Meadow.

ACTION: Appointed Patrick Picou to the Veterans Memorial District of Ward 10 Board.

ACTION: Appointed Kayla Benoit to the Lafourche Parish Children and Youth Planning Board.

ACTION: Appointed Kris Pitre to the Fire Protection District No. 8-B Board.

ACTION: Appointed Dennis Switzer to the Lafourche Parish Water District No. 1 Board.

ACTION: Appointed Dwayne Rebstock to the Juvenile Justice Commission Board.

ACTION: Appointed Laurie Callais to the Heroes’ Monument Commission Board.

ACTION: Approved a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between with the Lafourche Parish Drainage District No. 1 for one drum grinder to be used by Lafourche Parish Government for work within the Lafourche Parish Drainage District No. 1 area.

ACTION: Approved amendment no. 1 to the Louisiana Housing Corporation Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program Agreement (10/1/2017-9/30/2019) to change the total contract to
$567,341. Council members Jerry Jones and Daniel Lorraine opposed.

ACTION: Approved a contract between the Office of Public Health Bureau of Community Preparedness and Lafourche Parish Government for the Cities Readiness Initiative.

ACTION: Approved amendment no. 1 to the agreement between Lafourche Parish Head Start and the Board of Supervisors of Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College to secure the services of a psychologist for the Head Start classrooms.

ACTION: Approved a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between the Office of Community Development-Disaster Recovery Unit and Lafourche Parish Government, implementing a grant under the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Program through the Louisiana Long Term Community Recovery Program.

ACTION: Did not approve an agreement between Lafourche Parish Government and St. James Parish Area Agency on Aging for Lafourche Parish Government to serve as a host agency of the Senior Community Service Employment Program, funded through St. James Parish Area Agency on Aging to provide safe and healthful work sites for participants. Council members Bo Melvin, Jerry Jones, Daniel Lorraine, Corey Perrillioux and Luci Sposito opposed, Jerry LaFont abstained.

ACTION: Approved a grant application to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for $250,000 for the FY 2019 Community-based Marine Debris Removal Project, with a 50 percent local match.

ACTION: Approved amendment no. 2 to the Louisiana Housing Corporation Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program Agreement (10/1/2017-9/30/2019) to change the total contract to $131,139. Jones and Lorraine opposed, LaGont abstained.

ACTION: Accepted the low bid of M & L Engine, LLC, in the amount of $54,644 for a 24” pump package for the Sugar Ridge East Pump Station.

ACTION: Approved a grant application for FY 2018-2019 funding through the State of Louisiana Office of Community Development Community Water Enrichment for Lafourche Parish Water District No. 1.

ACTION: Approved an amendment to the scope of work to the contract between Lafourche Parish Government and the Division of Administration and transferring $47,180 from the West 63rd Street and West 143rd Street waterline improvement project to the East 44th Street waterline improvement project.

ACTION: Approved a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between Lafourche Parish Government and the Lafourche Parish Hospital Service District No. 1 for maintenance and repairs needed at the Lady of the Sea Walking Track. Spositio abstained.

ACTION: Accepted the low bid of J.D. Fields & Company, Inc., in the amount of $35,247 for steel sheet piles needed for the Sugar Ridge East Pump Station.
