CHIPLEY - An argument over hot grease on the stove has landed one Chipley man in jail and his wife with injuries.

A news release from the Chipley Police Department stated Ronald Stanley was arrested and charged with felony battery after he battered his wife, giving her a black eye and a bleeding head.

CPD responded to the disturbance on 531 Martin Luther King Drive on Saturday, July 29. Stanley's wife said the incident occurred after she confronted her husband about the hot grease he had left on the stove after frying food and going to bed, the release stated.

Although his wife turned off the stove, 40-year-old Stanley had a hot temper after being confronted. As the altercation moved to the back porch of the residence, Stanley "poured the pot of grease on the victim," the release stated.

However, his wife was not harmed by the grease and is expected to make a full recovery from the other injuries she sustained.

CPD located Stanley inside of the home and took him into custody.
