WASHINGTON COUNTY - Chipley and Vernon are gearing up to host respective annual patriotic celebrations.

The City of Chipley is presenting a free community fireworks display at 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, in Pal’s Park, 1544 N. Railroad Ave.

The City of Vernon is kicking off Firecracker Day at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 4 with the Fourth of July Parade.

The parade will start at the track behind City Hall, 2808 Yellow Jacket Drive. The line up starts at 3 p.m.

Festivities will then move to the Sportsplex, 3223 Moss Hill Road, where a flag-raising ceremony, games, inflatables and food will be in full-swing. Headlining entertainer Christon Birge will play at 5 p.m., with the fireworks display beginning at 9 p.m.
