CHIPLEY - A boil water advisory has been issued for water customers on McDougal Drive.

Due to a water main break in that area, City of Chipley issued the a precautionary boil water notice, which went into effect early Monday morning.

The City advises residents to boil all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes, the notice states. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient; also, bottled water may be used.

The advisory states the water system will collect samples immediately following the repairs. The precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until the bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink, the advisory states. Residents will be notified by an orange doorhanger when the notice has been lifted.
