BONIFAY - The Holmes County’s JROTC program announced last month the winner of the Cadet’s Battalion Commander’s Board.
Cadet Amber Lewis, a junior in the program was promoted to Cadet Major by the Blue Devil’s Senior Army Instructor Gregory Cole, and will assume command as the Blue Devil’s Battalion Commander. Andrea Biddle, Lewis’s mom, helped pin her daughter’s promotion and to watch her receive her Battalion Commander cord.
Amber is a member of the JROTC’s Raider, Color Guard, and Rifle team. Amber is also the Commander of the Female Regulation Unarmed Squad (Drill) Team. She is a member of Future Business Leaders of America and also plays on the Lady Devil’s volleyball team.
She has a 3.3 GPA and her goal is to excel as the Blue Devil’s Battalion Commander and successfully keep the Program in an Honor Unit with Distinction status.
Cadet Amber Lewis will have the opportunity to fill the position with her own ideas and will have cadet Logan Crosby, New Executive Officer, and cadet Gabriella Murley, New Command Sergeant Major, to assist her with the program’s missions.
The outgoing chain of command Jacob Murley, Katelynn Mims, and Stormi Hight, all seniors, will be given the opportunity to mentor the new chain of command.
