WAUSAU – A request for proposals concerning space on the town’s water tower was approved when Wausau Town Council met in regular session February 8.

The space at the top of the tower will be up for grabs in a non-exclusive agreement with the town.

One of the requirements the council voted on was annual rent, which will be set at $1,800.

The town also approved entering into a franchise with four other municipalities in the county for their respective recreation departments. Wausau, Vernon, Caryville, and Ebro would all play in the same league but would be able to pull players from other teams on as needed basis for All-Stars or state playoffs.

An emergency meeting of the council has been called for February 15 to open bids for the towns proposed walking trail.

Baseball sign-ups are set for February 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Possum Palace. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided.

Wausau Town Council will meet again in regular session at 6 p.m. on March 8.
