CHIPLEY -- A property is facing citation after failing to meet city code.

At a public hearing, Chipley Code of Enforcement Board on Thursday approved a recommendation from investigator Levi Yohn to cite 786 Peach St.

The vacant property, listed under Earnest and Lotti H. Bush, had been posted for violation several times since May last year. Although Yohn has made contact with the owners, the property has remained in violation of Chapter 11 sections D, E and G on dilapidated structures, nuisances and debris and overgrown lots.

Under Yohn's recommendation, the board moved forward to fine the property $50 per day if the property is not brought into code within the next 30 days or by Feb. 11.

A Mrs. Pittman, who is not listed on the property, represented the property  at the public hearing and suggested she would clean up the property and bring it within the City's standards.

The code enforcement board meets the third Thursday of the first month of each quarter at City Hall, 1442 Jackson Ave.
